While doing a photo shoot, I noticed one of the models taking a break and leaning up against this wonderfully green door. I asked her to hold it just for a second while I put camera to eye, composed, and made the shot.

While driving around one February morning, I came across this school bus unloading children at a school. Even though the snow was falling–and predicted to get heavier as the day went on–no snow day was in their immediate future.

Inside our garage are these remnants of a burglar alarm system from days gone by. On this particular day, the light was hitting it just right, and, since I had camera in hand, I took the opportunity to grab a shot.

I was at a red light when I looked to my right and saw this woman smoking a cigarette and seemingly waiting for someone to show up. Since my camera was in the seat next to me, I grabbed it, made the photo, then went on my way. I hope whomever she was waiting for eventually showed up.

I was on my way to meet my friend at the Art Institute of Chicago so we could see the Henri Cartier-Bresson exhibit. As I crossed the tracks that run beneath Monroe, I had to stop and grab this photograph.

Ripening

Our tomato plants are beginning to look like real tomato plants. The other morning, after a brief rain and while the light was still nice and diffused, I decided to grab a photo of one of the ripening fruits.
