This is the the time of year that is so exciting: a new show season. This weekend is the kick-off in Riverside, Illinois.
I’m in the frenzied process of selecting new images for the new season. I’m going to be spending the week matting and framing. It’s the kind of work that is so satisfying because at the end of the night, I look at the bin full of photos and smile with pride and accomplishment. I’m excited about the new photos this year, and I hope visitors to my booth with find something that surprises them, something that catches their eye, something that makes them smile.
This year I have added a new digital frame to my booth so that I can display many more photographs than I can bring with me. I thank my wife for not only the great idea but also the frame itself. Her help is invaluable to me, not only on a show to show basis when she helps me to set up and break down, but also in a broader sense: she has helped me to explore my creative side and has encouraged me all along to move forward with my work. She is a gem.
I hope to see you this weekend.
